Sabre-Toothed Ride
A Fun Design Challenge
A playful tree canopy ride that lets users sit atop while traversing the canopy. Safe, engaging, and mechanically reliable, it blends fun design with precision engineering.
Balancing playful aesthetics with engineering requirements, we used sketches and early 3D models to visualize proportions using actual data from Smilodon (sabre-toothed tiger) scans, as well as user interaction and structural needs, guiding the project from concept to a build-ready design.
Exploration & Design
Building on the client’s concept, we explored a range of theoretical and practical possibilities, always prioritizing safety and reliability.
Fabrication
Fabrication combined a stainless steel weldment, CNC-cut foam, and custom-engineered components for the ride’s mounting points and footrest.
Finished Solution
The Sabre-toothed ride brings imagination to life, combining safety, durability, and playful design. Engineered for reliability, it delivers a thrilling experience for adventurous users.
The body was finished with fiberglass resin and enhanced with an artistic touch. Handling fabrication entirely in-house allowed us to maintain strict control over the timeline and quality standards.
